AS1105 Performance
« on: August 10, 2014, 10:25:31 AM »
Currently have the original SBS anntenna as high up in loft as if physically possible and was wondering it the replacement whip AS1105 would gave anything over the original? has anyone done a comparison test between the two or can anyone who is using this aerial comment on the gain/or not achieved when this aerial is used over the original please ....I know having the aerial on top of the roof is the best bet but going outside is not an option Im afraid.

the one that was originally supplied with the SBS 1er, this new aerial just screws into the magnetic base after you unscrew the original one

Thanks for that, given your present set up I personally doubt using a different antenna will offer any marked improvement. You can try moving the antenna to different locations within the loft space sometimes even a few metres can make a difference.Consider installing the free SBS Plotter download  and run for a few days this will give you a datum point to refer back to.A forum search on this app will provide further info.
Before investing in a new antenna I suggest you contact Chris Taylor at http://www.tmrf.co.uk/ he will offer sound and honest advice.
