SBS-1 USB Wireless?
« on: December 23, 2013, 12:54:34 AM »
Hello,

Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I've had my SBS-1 in the loft for a number of years now, connected to my PC via a 10m USB extension cable. It does the job just fine but the cable running down up the walls/ceiling is starting to drive me a bit mad.

Is it possible to connect the SBS-1 to my computer, without a cable? I thought perhaps a wireless USB 'transmitter and receiver' existed but haven't been able to find one.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sam

Hi Sam,

To the best of my knowledge this is not possible! (If I am wrong then I hope the other members might jump in here!)

The sbs-1e version had the Ethernet port added (as I expect you are aware) to allow for having the receiver well away from a computer.

If it is possible in some way to Wi-Fi it, I do wonder if there might be problems with data flow to the computer running BaseStation.

I think you might be hitting a wall where this is concerned, unless, like I have already said, someone on the forum knows of a way.

Most Kindest Regards,

Andrew.
