Hi kuhlmann,

There are three possible variants to add source of pictures.

1. Images can be placed on the same computer where the program runs. Just put their into existing subdirectory pictures which is inside the static folder:

No options are required:
Code: [Select]
acarsdeco2 --gain 38.6 --freq-correction 64 --freq 131550000 --freq 131725000 --http-port 8880

2. If anywhere in network there is a HTTP server, then images can be placed on it. For example, put their in the web folder pictures. Check access to pictures via browser:

To use add the command line option: --pictures-url http://192.168.64.160/pictures/
Code: [Select]
acarsdeco2 --gain 38.6 --freq-correction 64 --freq 131550000 --freq 131725000 --http-port 8880 --pictures-url http://192.168.64.160/pictures/

3. If simultaneously with "ACARS" you are receiving  "ADS-B" from the same aircrafts in VirtualRadarServer:

add the command line option: --vrs-url http://192.168.64.85:80
Code: [Select]
acarsdeco2 --gain 38.6 --freq-correction 64 --freq 131550000 --freq 131725000 --http-port 8880 --vrs-url http://192.168.64.85:80
and you'll able to obtain pictures and other data from VRS in acarsdeco2's WEB:

For users of ACARSDeco2, I have updated the 'datasets' folder for this program with a full set of data from the latest Basestation.sqb file I can find. This will give a lot more up to date data than the default version.

See http://www.rstools.info/downloads-2.html

First of all, thank you for this very nice software, i already use ModeSDeco2 and ModeSMixer2, and just started to play with AcarsDeco2 in replacement of my actual acarsdec configuration :)

I would just have one question : is it possible to log the messages in a database like with acarsdec/acarsserv for further consultation/search ?

Thank you.
Regards.
Thibaut.

Yes, download my freeware 'Display-Launcher' suite of programs from http://www.rstools.info/downloads-2.html and there is an option ACARSDeco-Display which will display your ACARS traffic on a grid. Make sure you read the help file as you will need to make changes to the ACARSDeco batch file to point to logs.

Hello Mike,
I already now your great tool Display-luncher (even if since few months i can't start it anymore, i will communicate on the error i got with you soon) :)

Regarding the ACARS log, my acarsdeco2 is running on a Raspberry Pi 2, and i don't want to log to a file, but in a database for use with one of my websites. Ill see if i can adapt the script used with acarsdec for parsing and feeding a MySQL database, but i'm not very friendly with bash programming.

Regards.
Thibaut.

I apologize for my initial request, after a short search, i found acarsdeco2-parser on github, and it works great !

Thanks.

Regarding picture thumbnails in the acarsdeco 2 web interface....

Is it possible to pull pictures directly from a web site 'api' such as airport-data.com?
