GOTO FMS
« on: April 23, 2009, 11:13:04 AM »
Heading east across southern Ireland, ModeS 555555 (?) at FL330, callsign GOTO FMS.  Just east of Shannon.

Anyone's guess?

It'll be an US Navy E-6B, it operates as an airborne command post and communications center

Thanks Keith.  That's what I thought but the ModeS of 555555 didn't produce a tie-up.  These E6 usually do.

Just crossed Wallasey, heading south east at FL270.  Same ModeS and callsign.

Probabaly a dumb question with an obvious answer, but why is the callsign always:

GOTO FMS?

I had him (164387) over here (KMCC McCllean, CA, US) on 15 Jul 09. I don't remember why he was here (maybe Travis AFB) but he was @ 24500 in an aerial refueling track when I logged him.

Anmer: Not a dumb question.  GOTO FMS means GOTO Fleet Maintenance Symposium.
