German Air Force BD5000 confusion.

(1/2) > >>

Saudistu:
I have just spent an hour or so at MUC and whilst I was there a German Air Force BD5000 Global Express did a low flypast. I noticed on flugzeugforum.de that one has been testing at Manching, so I assumed this was the one. There are several pictures of it on the site and it wears the markings 98+48 (will become 14+01 eventually). According to sources on the internet this one is C/N 9395. So I get home and on the screen doing circuits, now at 46000 feet is C-GGSA (with ADS-B) using callsign DIXI29. This is a Manching callsign. According to transport Canada, C-GGSA is C/N 9417. Have the Germans already got a second one ? The previous identity of C/N 9395 is C-GDCF. I cannot find pictures of any other ones in German Air Force colours, but the one I saw at MUC was in the same markings as you see on the A319 and A340, and the one that trailed over at 46000 feet was also with markings so could be the same one. I hope there are some spotters at Manching today and pictures appear of the second one, either that or there is a problem with the C/Ns !

Not knowing if this is still in question
but here are the four Global 5000
14+01 9385 3F58AE
14+02 9404 3F4E27
14+03 9411 3F6533
14+04 9417 ex C-GGSA  3F7B3C
with their recently shown Mode-S, to my knowledge none of them showed ADS-B during Jan/Feb.

Hi Klaus,

Last week I had again an aircraft doing circuits at Manching showing up as C-GGSA with a DIXI callsign. Do you know if 14+04 is only recently delivered and was maybe doing flight testing, or is it fully active ? It was still using the Canadian HEX, and also full ADS-B.

Truetrack:
Hi Stu
Despite various previous flights in late Jan still with CDN Hex but under GAF Flt-ID AND ADS-B on
it went into Manching, apparently performing some testflts up to / in FL460
(CDN Hex ,and Flt-ID DIXI as usual for WTD61) 14.2. w/ADS-B, 16.2. w/o .
and now resuming normal traffic ADS-B switched off until they want to be seen again .
Does this correspond to your local better observations ?

Saudistu:
Hi Klaus, That is what I had. Still not managed to positively i.d the one I saw last september. I doubt it was 14+04. More likely 14+01 using 14+04 transponder.
